Envision – Friendly Community & Cultural Vitality Action Team

Goal: The team will create community solutions, programs and plans so that in 2030 and beyond, Chaffee County will have a friendly, supportive community where participation is encouraged and shared cultural elements connect us.

Context: More than 1,200 Chaffee County citizens surveyed indicated that a special sense of community — described as friendly, connected, safe, welcoming and supportive with thriving local businesses — is critical to quality of life and the reason many people live here. This team will work on topics that could include volunteerism, education, non-profit entities, crime rates, health outcomes, happiness, civic infrastructure, arts, culture and heritage, as well as environmental aspects such as dark skies and noise, to find ways to keep the special community vibe as the population grows a projected 31% by 2030.

Community Resources: News articles and other resources to provide background and context for many of the issues being considered in action-planning are available below. If you have additional information that would be of value, please send it to Cindy Williams at envision@centralcoloradoconservancy.org.
