Outdoor Recreation

Central Colorado Conservancy continues to increase the opportunities for outdoor recreation. Several of our conservation easements have access for hunting, while others are open to public fishing. In addition, we have partnered with the City of Salida to add properties for mountain bike and hiking trails in the Arkansas Hills.

Through our Arkansas River Priority Area, we are adding more properties along the River that will not only protect the important riparian area but allow for fishing, boater access, picnicking, and nature study. We also continue to work with local towns to increase public access along designated white water parks and town parks.

We continue to look for projects that are beneficial to our communities and would be happy to discuss any of the following types of projects with local groups or governments: parks, community gardens, town trail systems, long-distance trails, nature parks, hunting access, etc.

Central Colorado Conservancy has purchased our first preserve open to walk-in fishing. We are looking for several other key properties that we can designate as preserves. If you are interested in talking about donating land for this purpose, please contact us at 719-539-7700.
